By Cindy Posey | June 2, 2008

What is your goal in health, diet or exercise this week?

goal-call-monday.jpg

Goal Call Monday is your opportunity to be focused, accountable, and motivated to make your goal a success.

This week’s winner is…Cindi. Congratulations! Your special reward is $5 gift card for Yankee Candle. When the going gets tough, you get to keep on going!

Ready to Share?

1. Enter your goal in the comments (anytime during the week).

2. You’ll be listed in the Goal Call section next Monday. Enter your results/progress to be entered in the drawing.

Why You Want to Participate:

Focus on your top one-week goal in health, diet or exercise.

Accountability is shared here in the comments and by coming back with the results.

Motivation will be provided through your desire to achieve your goal and return with good news or the challenges you faced. As an extra motivation, I’ll enter anyone who participates in a random drawing to receive a surprise reward (different prizes given each week).

Goal Call

How did you do? Did you accomplish your goal, get stuck, have a funny story to tell?

  • Heather G: Great Job getting in the exercise 5 of 7 days. Tackling the extra sweets is a great place to start with food!
  • Cindi: Battling the balance of eating regularly throughout the day. You’re doing great by focusing on one small step at a time. It’s not easy, but keep your head up! Have you tried pre-prepping simple, healthy snacks in the refrig and pantry for the week? I find that helps me grab the “right” food over the junk food.
  • Blaine: Building up mileage again–30-35.
  • Brianna: 3 runs becoming a habit. Yea!!! Adding a No Sweets Day. Great babystep.
  • Susan: Keeping the 5 of 7 days of 30 minutes exercise. You bet you can continue to use the same goal. Habits are worth every week of focus!
  • BK: Welcome! 5 days 60 min cardio + 3 days strength training.
  • JoLynn from The Fit Shack 5 cardio sessions at 30 minutes/ 2 strength sessions.

I look forward to hearing how you did with your goals. Great job focusing on the small steps! A surprise reward will go to one of you for commenting on the results (good or bad)! Check in and report any time during the week before the next Goal Call Monday is posted! To see their original goals, click here and read the comments.

Last week went pretty well. Ran just shy of 40 miles. This week my goal is to get 40-50 miles, depending upon how I feel after donating blood tonight. I don’t imagine it will cause much of a disruption, but it’s been years since I’ve donated since it seems the only times I think of it are while I am training for a marathon or just ran one.

Yes, I accomplished my goal! :)
This week I want to fit in some yoga and/or pilates. I put in a yoga video over the weekend, and I felt so refreshed (a stretched out) afterwards that I’d like to do it more often. I mostly focus on cardio, so I think a change of pace now and then is a very good thing.
This week I’d like to do at least 2 yoga and/or pilates sessions.

OK, so I only ran twice last week, but I did have one day with no sweets!

This week, back to 3 runs (easy to do with one run done and a race on Saturday!). Another no sweet day again. It was impowering. I’m not ready to up it to 2 days with no sweets just yet, but think that it is worthwhile to consider on a regular basis and helps me limit my sweet intake overall.

Hi Cindy,

I reached my goal last week, yeah! I’m keeping the same goal, 5 cardio sessions at 30 minutes/ 2 strength sessions. Oh, and I dropped 3 lbs.

Thanks! :D

Whoo Hoo! I did much better. I am eating carrot sticks, bananas, celery, etc. I have been reading about the effect of not sleeping well on the body.
I am a night person and then pay for it in the morning! I am trying to schedule an earlier bedtime! That is this week’s goal. Thanks for the Yankee Candle certificate. I appreciate it…..Cindi

I’m always late for the goal call. But does it count that I’ve already surpassed my goal :)

I want to weight train three days. And I want to run two days on top of that.

I think it’s a first for me in a long time!
