By Cindy Posey | June 23, 2008

What is your goal in health, diet or exercise this week?

goal-call-monday.jpg

Goal Call Monday is your opportunity to be focused, accountable, and motivated to make your goal a success.

This week’s winner is…. MomWeightLoss. Your special reward is a Yankee Votive Candle with Holder. Plus, a NutriMinC RE 9 Skin Care Sample Packet provided by Fitness For Mommies. Congratulations.

Ready to Share?

1. Enter your goal in the comments (anytime during the week).

2. You’ll be listed in the Goal Call section next Monday. Enter your results/progress to be entered in the drawing.

Why You Want to Participate:

Focus on your top one-week goal in health, diet or exercise.

Accountability is shared here in the comments and by coming back with the results.

Motivation will be provided through your desire to achieve your goal and return with good news or the challenges you faced. As an extra motivation, I’ll enter anyone who participates in a random drawing to receive a surprise reward (different prizes given each week).

Goal Call

How did you do? Did you accomplish your goal, get stuck, have a funny story to tell?

  • Blaine: Great Job on the races! Slow and steady this week.
  • Susan: Quite an inspiration to dedicate 5 of 7 days on vacation to fitting in fitness. How did the gym hunt go?
  • BK: 3x Strength training and pool walking/running. I think the pools scares every one but swimmers! It’s a tough workout.
  • Firemom: Welcome to Goal Call Monday. Separate goals for specific days. I like it. And No Fast food.
  • MomWeightLoss: Staying within points using Weight Watchers.
  • JoLynn from The Fit Shack 5 cardio sessions at 30 minutes/ 2 strength sessions.

I look forward to hearing how you did with your goals. Great job focusing on the small steps! A surprise reward will go to one of you for commenting on the results (good or bad)! Check in and report any time during the week before the next Goal Call Monday is posted! To see their original goals, click here and read the comments.

My goal is to run 4 times this week. I’ve already crossed one off my list!

Thanks! Well, the gym hunt wasn’t ideal. There is a gym close to where I work, which is good. I just have to see when I can (and would) go… if it’s even worth it. (I DO want to use the weights and the spinning bikes.) The gym tends to get really crowded right after work, and I prefer to exercise when I can have the gym more to myself. Better pick at the equipment and less danger of exercising next to someone who is stinky, coughs up a lung, or makes strange noises… all rather distracting! :)

This week I’m going back to focus on 5 days of exercise, 30 minutes. I’ve got a busy schedule, so I need to make sure I make time to exercise instead of putting it on the back burner.

I rocked last week… until the weekend when I made some poor food choices. Bummer. That said, I’m nervous about this week as my cycle should return. Joy.

ANYWAY:
Today: Took the day off as Husband is working.
Tuesday: Walk with boys.
Wednesday: Yoga.
Thursday: Cardio.
Friday: Walk with boys.

Also this week: Finish gym application and TURN IT IN. Duh.

My week mostly went the way that I wanted. I kept my pace mostly easy, although I wasn’t sure if I would make my distance goal or not since Saturday’s supposed long run wound up being a lot shorter than I thought it would be. Amazing how much slower you go when you run laps up and down a mountain. I did meet my 90k goal (I ran 90.1 km actually) so I’m in good shape for this week…

This week I want to keep running easy and ratchet up over 100km (~62 miles) – ideally I might run as far as 105-110km. All easy running this week, and next week I’ll cut back a little (race day plus travel for a wedding makes it a good week to do so.)

Hi! I recently found your site and really like it and wanted to participate. Love the idea of having to publicly commit to some goals.

My goal for this week is to complete week 1 of the 100 push up challenge, and to run three times even though this week is swamped and we’re leaving for vacation. Gotta make it happen!

Happy Tuesday All! I did really well with my goal. Now, I am laid up with a hurt knee. I have arthritis in both knees, but on Friday I was coming in our front door and fell over in pain. Something in the back of my right now happened and I had to crawl in and yell for help from my two sons. I hope I am better on Thursday because that is my birthday!!!!!
While I am wearing a knee brace and resting, I am doing lower leg exercises! Thanks, Cindi :)

Hooray!! I scored a win! How fun! Thanks ladies!

I did stay within points this week and got a 5.2 pound loss! I’m thrilled!

My goal this week is to actually complete (meaning actually run) a 5K I’m signed up for Saturday. We’ll see..

Cindi, how’s the knee?

I’ve been working toward losing these same 3 lbs as a mini-goal and I have vowed not to set this goal for a 4th time. After losing 12 lbs and 27 1/2 inches I’ve stalled at 168 for months. My goal is to finally break this plateau to bits!!!

Hi Cindy,

I accomplished my goals last week and then some, and ended up dropping 4.5 pounds to boot, yeah! :)

I did cardio 7 days, 30 minutes each in my THR zone and did 2 strength training sessions. Also did 50 crunches 6 days.

I looked up my info in my 6WBMO black book and realized that I over exercised, makes sense that I had the 5 cardio days stuck in my head. So this week goal is 5 cardios in THR (I wear my monitor) and 2 strength training sessions.

The crunches are something extra that I throw in.

I hope you’re doing great too, and enjoying your job as a physical trainer! Enjoy the rest of your week Cindy!

Greetings, Well, I have rested my knee and am wearing a knee brace. I am back doing laundry, watering all my flowers outdoors and other household chores! My pain is so much less and I am ready to roll again. Thanks, Cindi
