The battle of the eggs–organic, conventional or pastured?

How time flies. I wrote this article for Fitness Link back in April and wanted to share it with you…
I was asked a simple question, “Are organic eggs better for you than conventional eggs? My husband isn’t on board with making the switch. He doesn’t see the difference.” I thought, oh, this will be an easy question to answer. I’ll gather facts about organic and conventional eggs and the answer will be obvious.

Great post, eggs are quite a tough nut to crack. So many varieties, hard to make an informed decision.

I used to think I was doing right by eating “cage-free” until I realized they only need to be out of the cage for so long to be called that. So now I makes sure that if they aren’t from a local farm that I’ve been to, they are organic pastured eggs.
The best type of eggs are pasteurized raised eggs. That means that the chickens live and eat the way they were suppose to. You have to be careful when you go into the store and buy eggs because it may say free range but that didn’t mean they are truly free range like pasteurized raised chickens. Another way you can tell the quality of the egg is by the strength of the shell. Overall though I’d highly recommend everyone to buy from local farmers it’s cheaper and way better quality.
